Not friendly. Very limited exam and unable to discuss significant elevation in BP because that was “not the reason for the visit” NO toilet paper in bathroom

I went to TGH urgent care expecting to be helped. I presented with typical flu symptoms (body aches, sore throat, fever, cough) and shared that I work in a school where I was in fact exposed to flu. My flu test came back negative and I asked if it could be a false negative. I was told ‘not likely’. I asked if I could have an anti viral medicine, like Tamiflu anyway and was told ‘no’. They said to come back in a couple days to see if I tested positive then. My symptoms worsened and so I went back and tested positive for flu. ... read more

The PA I saw was extremely difficult to understand, and did not seem to address my medical issue in a concise and comprehensive manner. She referred me to TGH Emergency Department at the hospital,. The TGH ER staff told me I should’ve never been sent for emergency care for a UTI infection. They stated I was the third case who had been needlessly sent to their ER by TGH Urgent Care Gandy on 11/17/23. Based on this experience, I will not visit your urgent care again.

First of all I went on line and logged in. I get to the office and checked in. I waited 4 and half hours just to get to see a nurse. There is only one nurse working at this location. There is only one Doctor Assistant working at this location. They were very good and so was the front staff. But there needs to be a real doctor there and more than one nurse. The waiting area was packed it was awful. This was not the first time I have ever been there but it will be my last.

The wait time was way under estimated. The entire staff was very nice but after 3 1/2 hours in the waiting room and an over an hour in the back I was over it. After being tested for covid and flu the tech said it will be 15 minutes. I actually walked out of the room after 40 and the PA said oh I’m just going to check. The entire experience was disappointing. Not sure how the corporation can fix these issue’s, but it isn't efficient. I realized upon getting home that the boot that was provided me was too small, which was causing additional pain. Also, and most distressing, was that I received a phone call stating that my toe was indeed broken and I would receive a referral. I called to follow up on the status of the referral, and was told it would take 5 days, and it may actually have been a little longer before the referral was received. Horrible experience all around. Resulting in them erroneously charging me $500 6 months after a visit with no warning and still haven’t been fully refunded a month later, after hours on the phone and them admitting their mistake in submitting the bill to the wrong insurance. In addition to that the labs from that day were submitted to quest incorrectly coded resulting in a $300 bill from them for something that would have been covered by insurance if they hadn’t submitted it with the wrong code. I provided a urine sample only to have the nurse say that she needed more and I will need to stay 3 hours. She refused for me to drink water and told me I had to sit and wait in their X-ray room. That’s crazy. Never again.
