First appointment for a TB and fit test. 830 appointment. Didn’t leave until after 1130. Received a call the day after saying saying something was wrong with the blood. Had to drive all the way back. Waited another 4 hours for a lab recollect. Horrible. Horrible experience.
After waiting a reason amount of time to see a doctor, I was led to an exam room that smelled like skunk. I was given a sample cup for testing, and then met by the PA. She told me that I couldn’t be helped at this TGH site, so she sent me to the TGH emergency room. So, I was charged for a visit where the PA saw me for one minute, and I was charged for a sample test that had to be repeated at the TGH site.
Worst experience! If you go to a TGH urgent care and the care giver says, "we will call you with the results" and "if the sulphur drug doesn't seem to be working call us" don't believe them. I tried calling for 48 hours before I got to speak to anyone. It was not someone who could answer my questions. Their attitude is that they can't help me so they don't feel bad for not calling with the results of my test or calling me back to answer questions. Nurse practitioner came in, asked 2 questions and in less than 10 seconds and no exam, handed me a script and said to go to ER if I felt it was life threatening. Ended up leaving and going to At Urgent Care on Dale Mabry and had a much better experience with better care and direction. People like that shouldn’t be in medicine
The wait to see the PA was way too long otherwise the care was very good.
When I got home, I had a question about meds.. Called customer care. Got Hung up on twice. 3rd time lady took my info and said to hold she would be right back. 45 minutes later of holding, I Hung up.
Waiting for 2-1/2 hours after online check-in is unacceptable. Turns out I have a sinus infection. I'm still struggling with no medication prescribed.
I believe it would serve TGH Urgent Care to advise the public on exactly what services are provided at the Urgent Care Center. I came to Urgent Care with stomach issues and had to get in my car and go to a Hospital ER. Luckily it was close by!!
