12:30 appointment-1 person in waiting room-took back at 1:05. Discharged at 1:30.
I think I needed stitches and was treated with plastic strips which did not close the wound adequately. The wound wept extremely of serous fluid for 5 days. When I went for the two day after check I was told that extremity injuries heal more slowly. He did give me antibiotics but I sensed he did not believe me about the nature of the leakage of fluid. The physician’s assistant was in exam room for 2 minutes when he stated he will be referring me to an ENT then stood by the door on his way out so I asked about my bleeding ear and he seemed annoyed that I was keeping him from leaving because he remained by the door. So I said is it ok to ask about what he saw through the scope. He literally flipped the papers in his hands, sat down and said “ask” in a manner that was so shocking I started shaking and I said “is this happening “. Wow. The doctor did not examine my body. I was there complaining of rib pain as a result of a Heimlich. No x-Ray tech was there and they sent me to another location. The proper thing to do, instead of collecting my co-payment, was to explain there was no X-ray tech available and suggest I go to the other urgent care up front. The doctor on duty was rude and as I explained, did not touch me or look at my injury. I will not return. It’s a disgrace having a Tampa General Hospital logo on the sign.
